Middle School Chemistry Projects
Middle School Chemistry ProjectsMiddle school chemistry projects can be done for a variety of reasons. If you have a class full of kids that are studying or you are the teacher in the classroom, you will need to prepare a project that the students can be proud of and that can be turned in at the end of the term. Some of the projects that are available include scrapbooking with color-transfer, chemistry with colorless and fluorine, and chemistry projects that incorporate components from paper glue.Scrapbooking with color-transfer is one of the most common projects that middle school students are offered as a part of their science lesson plans. The project is not only interesting but also exciting. This method uses strips of colored fabric with adhesives built into them to create a picture or page that you have just created. The strip is colored with paint and allowed to dry while it is being attached to the other strip. Once the colors are evenly blended, the color-transfer is peeled o ff of the strip and carefully placed onto a piece of graphite. When you remove the paper from the graphite, the material will have the ability to be melted and shaped into different shapes. This project can be done by either a student or an adult in the class.A more complex project is the lesson on the basics of chemistry using colorless and fluorine. The students can be introduced to the different elements of this element, that are different in color and different in molecular structure. It will also help the students to understand the pH scale and how they can learn about both.Kids also have many opportunities to learn about different scales and different signs that will help them with their understanding of chemistry. They can learn about the different signs and scales and the pH scale and study different shapes to make them look like the different elements of this element that they are studying. In fact, the students will even be able to write a report on what the current value of the hydrogen scale is, which is one of the levels of this element.Another chemistry project that uses colorless and fluorine is to create a test tube that has a different shade of each element in this element. For example, if the students were studying sodium they could use bleach and potassium hydroxide to add a different shade of the element in this element. The students could then use this element to burn the other elements so that they can see the different shades that are in each element. There are different ways that they could do this. One way is to get a strip of paper and then start burning sodium chloride, potassium carbonate, and sodium bicarbonate at one point of time, in a fire. The others can be burnt at a different time and again the students could study what colors they are in when they get out of the fire. Using this method will be easier if they have an actual tube of each of these elements available. These types of projects can be used by the students in middle s chool to start to understand different concepts that they can take with them through high school. Once they understand that fluorine is made of two molecules of oxygen and one molecule of fluorine, they can start to understand why they should add some of the hydrogen salt of this element to form a variety of chemical compounds. In addition, they will be able to study the potential of their knowledge to help them with their own careers.

3 Countries Leading the Way in Classroom Technology
3 Countries Leading the Way in Classroom Technology Teach Awayâs partner schools around the globe are pioneering some of the very latest digital educational resources, leading the way for more effective and engaging learning. Weâre taking a look at some examples of innovative technologies currently in use:UAEKeen to raise their education levels to world class standards, the Abu Dhabi government has invested heavily in digital learning. Graduates leave as highly-skilled workers, adaptable to new and evolving technologies and often with knowledge that exceeds employer expectations. Vocational colleges, in particular, acknowledge the growing prevalence of technology in all workplaces and strive to keep closely in line with industry trends. In some facilities, students sign up to specialized online class forums with video capacity, allowing them to team up on ideas and discuss self-study projects remotely. Students can also connect with their tutors face-to-face at allocated times using this service.KuwaitAn international school in Kuwait City recently created an âEducational Technologistâ position to keep their technology implementation relevant with the rapid pace of change in tech and social media. The role of this specialist is to identify and assess emerging software and equipment that can be applied effectively in the classroom. Students here are each allocated their own iPad at the start of the year and carry out the majority of their literacy and numeracy tasks on the devices, as well as completing tests and interactive games. Teachers report that their students respond overwhelmingly to the interactive factor and tend to stay focused for longer.TaiwanTaiwan was one of the first countries in the world to provide free wi-fi access for its entire population, allowing unlimited access to digital resources. This has lead to rapid advancement of educational technology inside and outside the classroom. There are few school bans on mobile devices - in some schools, students are actively encouraged to use their smartphones and any apps they think might help their studies. Middle school and high school students even work on developing their own apps to solve mathematical, scientific and day-to-day problems. There has also been a surge in the popularity of online courses and live online tutoring, supplementing learning beyond the school day.
The Basics of Acid Base Chemistry
The Basics of Acid Base ChemistryThe study of chemistry is one of the essential parts of all curriculum and its significance is quite clear in today's world where a person can find himself lost in the thought of how to make an intelligent decision as far as the application of chemistry is concerned. For every chemical reaction in the human body, there is an acid-base chemistry and most of the reactions go in to the acid-base chemistry with the exception of the basic chemicals which take place in the ammonia cycle. In the world of chemistry, it is always difficult to start learning the basics, especially when the next exam date arrives in the form of O-level exams. But what if you can start on the basic chemistry through online tutorials that will teach you all the basics of the class. Most of the physics students prefer this option for the study, as this will help them to concentrate on the fundamental of the subject rather than the analytical part of the subject. In fact, this method will also help in personalizing your study habits as you will be able to learn faster and at a pace that suits you best. But, before going online, you should know that there are some things that you need to know about acid-base chemistry. This is a branch of chemistry that deals with the substance called acid. Now, if you do not know much about this, it means that the principle of this science is very simple. The basic aspect of the process of chemistry is that any type of substance that undergoes a chemical reaction will in the end produce a gas or vapor. But, if you want to learn more about this, you will have to learn about the different types of acids and the rate at which they break down. These acids include the bases that are formed when alkaline materials undergo chemical reactions. They include the hydroxides and monovalents and there are a number of other bases such as carboxys. In the section of acid-base chemistry, it is very important to know that there are two types of ba ses which are the acid and the neutral form. The acid base is formed by the neutralization of the alkaline by dissolving them in water. The neutral base does not contain any neutralizing elements as they are always negatively charged.Another aspect of acid-base chemistry that you should know is that there are a number of acid compounds which have been created over the last few years. Among these compounds, one of the most common ones is the tri-carbon compound. It is the main component of chlorates. With these aspects of acid-base chemistry, you should know that the point of contact between the acid and the chemical reaction will be the metal which has been the base for the reaction. You can try searching the internet for acid-base chemistry as the information you find here is very interesting.

Economics Theory or Science
Economics Theory or Science Economics: The Polarising Science ChaptersIs Economics A Science? Is Economics A Social Science?Understanding Economic ScienceItâs been heavily debated whether or not economics can actually be considered a science. Although this argument has been around for a long time, tensions appeared to reach their peak in 2013 when three economists were awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics.Although that news does not sound particularly polarising, the issue many had with the award was the fact that two of the economists in receipt of that award seemed to have views that directly contradicted each other:Robert Shiller; andEugene FamaGiven that the aim of a science such as physics or chemistry is often considered to be the search for a single principle or truth, it appeared that such rules did not apply to the realm of economics and that one economist could freely disagree with another. In the five years since that particular Nobel Prize, has this debate been settled? Sadly, the short answer is no. Although arguments are rife on both sides, the jury appears to be out as to whether economics should be classed as a science, a social science, or whether it is no science at all.We look below at the fundamental issues that determine why economics is so difficult to consider as a science. Whatâs more, we also outline why these arguments should not fundamentally change how we look at economics as a subject, as it still remains a crucial field that can help us to better understand why it is that we act the way we do.the methodology an economist uses to reach a conclusion; andhow an economist applies economic analysis when they examine their data.Closely tied in with objectivity is the fact that many economistsâ ideas, models, and approaches can be heavily shaped by their political beliefs, or by the political administration of the time and their approach to the economy and current economic problems.Given this inherent bias, perhaps even uncertainty, within economic models and systems, some argue that economi cs cannot, and will not ever be, a science in the truest sense. It can be hard to remain neutral when considering the realm of economic science. (Source: Public Domain, House, Wikimedia Commons)Limitations of experimentsAnother argument levied against economics being classed as a natural science is the fact that, although physicists, biologists, and the like can set up controlled experiments to test a hypothesis, which produces concrete results from which a conclusion can be drawn, the same cannot be said of economics experiments. At its core, economics is the study of human behaviour, and how that impacts the economy. Human behaviour is not as concrete as the behaviour or properties of, say, an atom, and the fact is that human behaviour can be unpredictable, as individuals can change their minds in a dynamic way at a momentâs notice.Due to this, economic experiments are difficult, if not impossible, to carry out in a controlled environment, and almost certainly cannot produce a con clusion that applies a rule across human behaviour and decision-making. As such, economic studies produce a âbest guessâ result that may give an indication of how individuals, or an economy, will perform under a certain set of circumstances. However, thatâs not to say that economics experiments are not without their worth, or that any numerical element to an economic theory is simply for show. There are many economists today whose research on economic issues uses a combination of mathematics and statistics to help understand the inner workings of economics. This field is known as econometrics, and it can often feature as part of an economics degree at university, or in an economics position post-graduation.Economic science is not necessarily the same as natural science. (Source: CC0 1.0, OpenClipart-Vectors, Pixabay)Is Economics A Social Science? As noted above, many people would be more likely to argue that economics, if it is a science at all, fits more within the social scienc es sector than amongst the sciences of chemistry and its companions. However, is it fair to apply this general conclusion across all areas of economics? There is more than one school of economics, and economics as a subject is made up of many individual niches, including:International economics;Environmental economics; andFinancial economics.Whatâs more, economics as a field can almost be divided into two areas. On one side you have the field of macroeconomics, which looks at economies as a whole. On the other hand, thereâs microeconomics, which seeks to study human behaviour at the level of the individual and its impact on the wider economy.Interestingly, many of the theoretical arguments levied against economics being a science tend to focus on the realm of macroeconomics, rather than microeconomics. This is because macroeconomics is, by its very nature, much more difficult to gain a deep level of insight on. This is because there are difficulties observing, testing and comment ing on developments in the aggregate and their implications.Indeed, many macroeconomic theories, from Keynesianism to monetarism, offer contradicting theories on what an economy needs for stability or wealth creation, as an undergraduate student at a university will often hear in a lecture. On the other hand, microeconomics is much easier to test in a way that produces repeatable and observable economic trends and results.International markets can be considered a part of economic science. (Source: CC0 1.0, AhmadArdity, Pixabay)Understanding Economic ScienceAlthough there have been arguments going back and forth for years as to whether economics can truly be considered a science or not, the answer is, does it truly matter? The importance of studying economics is in no way diminished by its classification as a science, social science, or indeed, no science at all.At its core, economics studies how individuals behave and interact with one another, and how our behavioural quirks can info rm how we decide to share our resources.Being able to understand the human condition and how rational we truly are is a core part of economics, and it may well be that, due to the very unpredictable nature of humans, economics will never be able to call itself a natural science. That does not mean, however, that economic models, theories and studies, mathematical, statistical, or otherwise, are not useful.Although such studies are unlikely to produce results that can act as a crystal ball, or that can predict a financial crisis such as that in 2008, economics can let us know:how well our local or global economy is performing;whether economies do benefit from levying higher taxes, or by implementing increased regulation;whether an economy is set to face a period of inflation or deflation; andhow we could increase economic growth, or at least try to maintain it.In that sense, as an academic discipline economics remains crucial, and it is a widely-respected field of study. If you would like to study economics at school or university or would like to know more about the debate over whether or not economics is a science, you can always hire a Superprof tutor to provide economics tuition. With online and in-person tutorial services, Superprof offers a range of experienced and motivated tutors that can teach you about all aspects of economics. For example, a Superprof economics tutor near me could teach you about:microeconomics or macroeconomics;the laws of supply and demand;the business cycle and its involvement with macroeconomic theory; orparticular schools of economic thought, from behavioural economics to Milton Friedman's economic theories and monetarism. It can be easy to find a tutor on Superprof.
